I stand by Deitel & Deitel "C++ How to Program". It's really the only C++ book I've read all the way through (although I own Stroustrup's book, I haven't really had a chance to read it yet.)

Excellent. Read it. It won't bite you.

Thanx........
i don't think you can really go wrong wiht a C++ book, I mean all in all each one attempts at teaching C++. Some authors can explain things a little better, but it just comes down to practice and writing your own programs I guess. That and having a group of elite programmers on a great online chat forum *buttons suit, shows glistening teeth in a big smile before drinking a can of pepsi with label facing audience*
Cool site man!!! Thanks for that post most people wouldnt give up a great site like that being that it saves you money.
Thinking in C++ by Bruce Eckel is a very good book. Try it. It will take some effort to begin, but it will be worth the effort.
After you complete the 1st Vol. , you can download the second Volume from www.bruceeckel.com.
First hear, then understand, and then, leaving all distractions, shut your mind to outside influences and devote yourself to developing the truth within you.
agree. this book is like some delicacy which needs time to taste it.Originally posted by CodeJerk

Never end on learning~
I think if you have Deitel & Deitel, C++ HOW TO PROGRAM, you don't need to have another book, at least it's fine with me.
