Lightbulb Editing Instant Messenger (please help!)

Alright. I was wondering if anyone knows what language Instant Messenger was written in. What I'm getting at is this: I want to find the file that checks if the program is running, and if it is, then it won't open a new window , it opens the one already running. See, I want to be able to find that file, and change it so that I can open multiple windows of Instant Messenger, and be logged on as different people at the same time. I know you can go to the website and use AIM Express, but I don't want to do it that way. Could someone please help me?

Calm down the original post was about 1 hour ago.

I don't use Instant Messenger so I'm not sure if what you require is possible. If there is no option to configure it in the way you desire it wont make any difference knowing what language it was programmed in as AFAIK it's not open source.

If there's no way of manually configuring it then you could always try and disasemble the exe and try and work out where the code is that checks if another instance of it is open and try and alter that code (not an easy task). Goodluck.

Multiple posting and thread bumping are anti-social. Have a read of the board rules, (where it also mentions meaningful thread names). I have deleted your duplicate thread. I have not taken any action against this one, yet...

It doesn't really matter what language it was written in. Eitehr way you have to reverse engineer it or find some other means. Try getting Filemon from www.sysinternals.com and see what files it opens. I'd guess its not a file on disk. Its probably something like a memory mapped file.
