I've been reading a few threads, and I noticed that you guys always are talking a console. Now when you say console do you then mean a program that runs in dos and only show lines.
Or do you mean a quake/halflife like console (though the idea may be the same)
Well english isn't my first language, (it's instead a useless language called danish which only 5 milion people speak!!) so if you think my grammar SUCKS (it does by the way) than you're more then welcome to correct me.

I believe anything which displays only text, is described as a console. Thats the answer I got when I asked th same question anyway
