    Newbie alert

    Hi everyone, this is my first post.

    Just got a quick question for you guys!

    Is it possible to put graphics into a console application?

    If so do you know of any decent tutorials i can look at........

    Sure you can, though it really depends on what you consider graphics. ;>

    You can use ASCII characters and change foreground and background colors. In fact I am writing a game engine to use as a tool for beginner to intermediate C/C++ students so that I can better teach them and relate material better (not to mention make it a little more interesting).

    I looked into this further today because I realized something. A console window, IS a window. A very basic window, nonetheless a "window". Now since it's a very base window a lot of the 'bells and whistles' are left out. If you wanted to put graphics in a console window you can go about it in a couple ways.

    First: create a transparent window placing it over the console. Doing so, you could 'put graphics' into your console window.

    Second: promote your console window so it has the functionality you need.

    you can just put asc?? art you can put real graphics
