    I could use some help.

I run a digital media company that specializes in creating CD-ROM and DVD programs. These programs are usually created with Lingo and/or Action Script. This is where I could really use your help. We are looking to expand our services by offering some other applications using some of the more complex languages such as c, c+, c++; however I have no idea what is possible and what isn’t possible. Could you please help me out? What is usually created in C(+)(++)? What can be created using these similar programs? What would the time frame be on most projects that utilize this language? Is there anything that hasn’t been done before that could be done? (forgive me for being so broad with these questions)….I apologize for not being specific, yet I do not know what is possible and what isn’t possible. If anyone can please help me out it would be grteatly appreciated...

You can reply here, or if you have a bright idea that has some application, you can email me at [email protected]

    Thanks.
    Rob

first, this is nearly impossible to answer. Certainly much more is possible with C/C++ than is possible with Action Script. There is no such thing as C+ by the way. The development time will be bigger. No question there. The thing is, you're asking for a time frame on a hypothetical product. This is not possible. Some products could be kicked out very quickly, some could take several years. Plus there are steps you can take to speed up your development time such as code reuse and OOP. I wish I could give you a definitive answer.

    That's a pretty slick site.

The answer to your big question is you can do anything with C or C++ (C+ isn't a language, or if it is, it's a very small one). Windows was programmed using C or C++, games are, any sort of application under the sun can be. It's up to you.'

If I could think of something good that hadn't been done, I wouldn't be programming for someone else, and I don't think I'd tell you

    edit: damn you fillyourbrain!
