    homework!!!! (listen to me people)

Alright I just read the last post and I thinky you guys should stop jumping to conclusions! right now I'm taking a programming class that teaches us stuff like arrays, switchs, if else statements, etc. some pretty basic crap. All I want to do is code a chat software for our local intranet and I need to know where to start what exactly do I need to know to accomplish this! I dont want you guys to write it for me! I dont want you to go out of your way for me! I just want someone to tell me what I need to learn in order to create a simple chat software that exchanges messages between 2 computers on a network. It's like when I said I wanted to learn to program the teacher said you should start with cout and cin. Well I did now I need to know what to start with to code network chats. Please dont rant like the last post! I seriously need some help I am lost!

Besides, if you've just learned basic stuff, why are you jumping at chat programs so quickly? Also, I don't recall people ranting at you on your last post - 1 person posted a link, and that was it...

Figuring out arrays is just a little different than trying to write a chat client.... but good luck anyways!

Uh, the post about homework just saves us the trouble of telling people who give us just the question and ask us to write the whole thing for them that we won't do their work for them.

If you have a question then we'd be glad to help, if you have code that you've been working on and can't figure out how to do something we'd be more than willing, if you want to know of places you can go or books you can get to broaden your programming knowledge then we'll jump at the chance to offer opinions.

If you give us a problem that your teacher gave you without thinking about it and ask us to write it up so that you can get a good grade without any work on your part then we'll tell you to ........ off.

That's what the post about homework says, not that we won't help with homework at all :P
