that books available online, and not exactly the best in my opinion. enough to get you started though. i learned from online various online tutorials and constant coding. how about trying that :).
Could you please tell me what the site is??
i dunno, sorry, im sure other people do. if you have irc, try #bw./* Edited by Moderator. Warez. */
I am sorry I don't know what "irc" is but if you don't know the site that is fine but if you do know any other sites they would all be appreciated.
this site has about the nicest tutorial a tutorial can get. cplusplus.com's tutorial is also pretty good. i also wrote a short tutorial on the concept/structure of C/C++ tutorial: http://kainga.ath.cx/~trisk/files/tutorial.html . not exactly the best, but i have no life :P
Thanks a lot I will go and check out the sites right now.
This site has that book and a bunch of others.

Thanks alot that is a great site!!
The great book is the help file that attached to the C++ compiler that you have...
just click F1 and you will get a lot about it...
You can ask questions here as I do!
I'm using VC++.Net and I think the associated 'help'(if thats what you could call it) is more complicated than this language. :D
C++ how to program.
Deitel and Deitel
third edition.
Oh man where did i put it..sorry cant remember the publisher..
It wont teach you in 21 days mind you...but I dont really think thats possible
If you remember it I would be grateful and don't worry I don't expect to be able to learn C or C++ in 21 days but I am a beginner so I want to start with a few simple lessons and then move onto something more complicated.
I believe the publisher is Prentice Hall and here is a link to the books resource sight:
http://cwx.prenhall.com/bookbind/pubbooks/deitelcpp/
ok irc is internet relay chat or something dont mind the name just know that you get an irc client (a program) many free ones to choose from choose the server and its a big chat thing with many channels to join and is a great way to ask questions for faster responses then useing a message board (i would still post here first). go to download.com and search for irc download one and it shouldnt be hard to figure out the rest. as for a book 'C++ for dummies' is what i started with its a decent book i recommand (spelled that wrong) it.
This book comes higly recommended. It teaches how to take advantage of C++, not just program in C with classes.

Thanks a lot, after I am done learning C and C++(I know that is a hell of a long ways away) do you have any books that can help you start game programming??
Nice website :) thanksQuote:

books! Go ahead with it.
Where do you get that from??
Hey thanks, I am already on about chapter four or so and for a beginner(me of course)it seems to be working out rather well.:D
You can also try Sams Teach Yourself Windows Programming in 21 days after C++ ... it teaches you windows api so that you can create fully working windows applicatoins :) not just console apps :(
:( Too bad I didn't think of asking that. I had to resort to sketchy retchy online tutorials.
Anyway... you can probably find online tutorials for API :) google is your friend :) (though I wish he really was :()
Here's what I'm studying ...
**Teach Yourself C++ In 21 Days (Liberty)
**Beginning Visual C++ (Horton)
**Teach Yourself Data Structures and Algorithms In 21 Days (LaFore)
**STL From the Ground Up (Schildt)
... and then on to Windows/MFC/.NET or to Linux/XWindows/KDE/Gnome ... not sure which yet. Maybe games?

you should try How to C++ program by Deitel and Deitel
Where do I get that?
Wow Ruski... been on vacation? A lot of these threads you're replying to are pretty old...
Not vacation :) but I've been away for a while. Had some things to take care of. Well I'm back now :) Miss Me??
The best way to learn C++ is Help files...
added to that is http://www.cprogramming.com this is a great please to learn C++. you can get everything you ask for....
beleive me...
Here you will see a great people.
As long as you try by yourself. We are, to be sure, reluctant to answer those who simply say "This is my program: (6 pages....) Can you tell me how to make it have graphics?"Quote:

teach your self c++ is a good book
Agreed.
Another thing... I found some good on-line free books (C++ in 21 days, vc++ 6 21 days, etc) but I didn't find any Game Programming free book online (OpenGL Game Programming, DirectX Game Programming, etc) .. anybody has an idea from where I can get one?
Thanks
Sams Teach Yourself in 21 days in On this site for free.
Teach yourself c++ isn't that bad but the author converted to
c#. I would go with a different book.
check out www.cpp-home.com tutorials section
Quit dreaming... www.freebooks.by.ru (goto the C++ section.. you'll find lots of them.. but there are some in RUSSIAN)Quote:
