    Doom

    I was just wondering for people who really know the game DOOM from ID Software, what compiler they used? If they didn't use Borland Turbo C++, what library did they use?
    Thanks

    They used Borland C++.

    If you go to idsoftware.com you can download the source to Doom 1 & 2, Quake, Quake 3, and Wolfenstein.

    In their comments, they said they compiled it using Borland.

    theres probably a lot of compiler ports out there but heres the way i hear it

    Wolfenstien - in Johns own words Borland 3.1
    Doom - i have no clue most likly Borland
    Quake - i have no clue
    Quake 2 - VC i think
    Quake 3 - VC

    Xterria,

    most of the ID games source can be found here including the dll source to Quake 2 and 3 for making mods. and the full quake 1 source and buy full i mean EVERYTHING or it should be anyways.

    The Doom and the Doom 2 source code are the same. The only difference is they use different wad files. You would know that if you looked in the main function of the Doom source.
