Hey I'm a newb and I guess im trying to learn everything at once. Anyways, what I would like to do is create a program that would connect to a server by IP address throught a LAN. The IP address would provide all the imageing and stuff like that so what I would like to do is get the program to connect and open a window that would print what the other computer is saying. Is it possible to do that? Could you tell me where to look for information ?

your a newbie but want to write a program somewhat similar to LapLink. Sorry to burst your bubble but its not going to happen. You need to learn to crawl before you can run! Learn the basics - input, output, learn how networks work, learn how Internet and commmunication protocols work and then try.
