Deifinitly go with Win2K unless you have the money to drop on WinXP Prof. because the .NET platform will not run on the Home edition.

Win98+ is not an operating system, it is the program that allows you to use themes in Windows 98

I'm not happy at all with Windows XP. I've had 2K on other computers before and I loved it. I'm just too cheap to go out and buy a copy for this computer. Don't get XP. Get 2K.

he might be talking about win98se, anyways

I would go with Windows 2000. I use it, and love it. Very stable. XP's good too, but its too busy, if you know what i mean.

Sure. Format your hard drive and put on a clean copy of Windows 2000. Or you could try giving your computer a nice, firm kick and hope it deletes the programs you want it to delete.

I have to join the Win2K campaign here......I have XP and have installed/configured it for people....but I will stick with 2K......

It has all the stability, less gimmicks and is .NET complient........

Dont bother with Win98...it wont allow you to use .NET properly either..............and its a toy operating system based on Win95 which was created as a stopgap for a certain market that doesnt even exist anymore........

My copy of Win98 is sat next to my copy of Win3.11 and Dos 6.22 in my cupboard right next to my old transformer magazines.........that's where it belongs - nostalgia land

It is up to you ...

If you like games, you can go with windows XP which full of media and stuff and junk..
if you are a programmer, you can choose between win98SE and win2000,
. if you want to make programms for networks, you go with windows 2000.

    BUT...
If you want a great system (OS) go to Redhate4.3; then you will be working as a real programmer under a great os system.

On my computers, I have win2000prof, and windows 98SE Beta version, and RedHate 7.3.

On the old self, I have windows XP. I don't have the time to play games.
