    Red face The lack of effort and it's ramifications

    C++ seems hard.

    I've read a book but as with all languages I don't understand some bits - it's the Deitel & Deitel book (2nd Edition). They never explian things properly.

    I get bored too - I want stimulating windows apps.

    Any advice!?

    Oh - and WTF is C# !?!?!??!?!?!

    Cheers

    Have you looked at the tutorials/source at the main cprogramming.com page?

    C# ( c sharp ) is Microsoft's answer to Java.

    you don't need to be an expert C/C++ programmer to be able to use Windows, but it doesn't hurt. You could always look into VB. I've seen at least one reasonble Windows tutorial on the web that got you going pretty quick without too much background in C/C++. Maybe if you look at something like that you can see the importance of learing the basics.

    So read about ten more books. You absolutely cannot learn a language by reading one book, most professional programmers have amassed a rather large library before their first job.

    You can find good Windows tutorials at http://sunlightd.virtualave.net/Windows/
