    Question Some gaming graphics help

Hello all! I'm trying to figure out how I can code a world like the old 8-bit games that used tiles as movement. I'm looking for some coding examples on dividing the screen into tiles and loading the graphics into them, and then how to shift everything up, down, left, and right. If someone could recommend a good resource to help, I would be extremely greatful.
