    How can I mask or hide typing while using cin or cin.getline();?

    look up getch() and getche() in your compilers help file.

    like in pwds

    i think its like this, put in loop

    text[i]=getch();
    putch("*");

    also: borland specific is getpass() though it takes only 8 chars its in conio.h
