    what's does \a do in cout << "\a"

    sorry, i don't know how to search for "\a" on this site...and I've tried testing it out,...it doesn't seem to do anything...
    Which is the master, which is the student?

    \a casues a 'bell alert', i think its from your normal speakers but maybe the system speakers.
