Need Help with Multiple .cpp files.

I wanted to create a mega program which is very large. So i thought of creating multiple .cpp files and then interlink them later. but i cant figure out how to go about that. How do i link a .cpp file that contain a funtion which is called in another .cpp file, i.e how do i link a separate program which contains a function with a program in which that funtion is called? Is this even possible?

Basically, you compile each individual source file and link the resulting source files to form your final executable program.

I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.
