I recommend this book for anyone with knowledge of C and ready to learn C++. Unlike other books I have used, with C++ Primer I am programming in C++ and not C while learning C++ constructs immediately rather than programming in C with <iostream> replacing <stdio>.
Get this book!
That depends on the author. There are some "bad" C++ Primer books out there. Watch out.
See here for a reference of some good books with that name (and some bad):

True that, but it still helps to name the author to distinguish it from the many. Many books with that name.
