Question Visual C++ or Visual C++.net

Which one should I buy? I am mainly going to use it for programming windows apps, so I don't care about the .net stuff. Which one would be a better choice and a better deal?

If you don't care about the '.net stuff', the better choice/deal would be Visual C++
If I'm not mistaken, it's much cheaper then Visual C++.net

I'm still skeptical about C#.. will it catch on or not? I don't think anyone can say for certain. But for now, I'm sticking with C++

If I am wrong, and both are the same price, go with Visual studio.net, as you can still program C++ in it.

Visual C++.NET has a better compiler and improved (but slower) IDE. If it's a straight choice between .NET and v6.0 and you've got an adequate system then .NET wins every time.

VisualC.NET can only run on NT/2000/XP machines - if you have one of these operating systems get the .NET version

Otherwise Visual C++ regular will run on any Windows version 9x and NT.
