Talking YAY! I got a cool new book!

I just wanted to flaunt my new C++ book. Ivor Horton's beggining c++. Was this a good choice(uh oh, i'm asking now??? I just bought it!). Well, the first few chapters seemed easy because of the tutorials at cprogramming.com.

Might be good. The only book I've ever found really usefull is "ANSI ISO C++ Professional Programmer's Handbook". And the Addison-Wesley "Design Patterns" book for OO design and programming.

I got that book - version 5 at least - a year or two ago. Didn't read the whole thing through but the parts I did I found to be useful and easy to understand. I don't really know how it compares to other books though.
"Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods."
