    Newbie - Possible to put a number in the tray?

    Hi,

    Im hoping to pay for an app to be made, and one of the questions I had is, is it possible to have a program run at startup but automatically run in the tray, so it isnt seen on the desktop at startup. Furthermore is it possible to display a number in the tray, which updates in real time based on a variable? Ive never seen this done before, its always a set of icon images.

    Notifications and the Notification Area (Windows) should tell you what you need.

    Edit: And once again I posted without thinking first.. I just assumed you meant for Windows, sorry if you didn't. If it's for one of the linux window managers then I don't know.
