    c++ compiler?!

    Hello

    Is it possible to use Visual Studio.Net to write a c++ code? (I know it has visual c++ but what about c++ itself?)
    I am asking for the ones who are going to learn C++ not the ones who have already learnt it.

    I use Visual Studio to write C# codes and my brother wants to learn programming (his plan is to start with c++). I dont know if he has to buy and install a new compiler or ....

    Thank you

    Yes, if Visual C++ is installed, and it's not just Visual C#. Just do NOT choose a CLR project when creating a new project.

    thank you for such a fast respons

    yes we have
    ATL-CLR-General-MFC-Smart Device-Test and Win32

    Should he choose "General"

    I remember C++ (I think I used to have Borland c++) has such instructions like "include <Iostream.h>" and ...

    are they the same here in visual studio?

    ATL/MFC/Win32 are C++ projects. The former might not be suitable for someone starting out since they are somewhat specialized.
    ISO C++ includes statements such as #include <iostream> (without the .h).
