    multiple file programming

I want to learn the multiple file programming in c++, like in C we call it header file,
what extension we should use in c++?
When there is need of creating another file?
Good programming practice in this sense.
Give me precise information if possible and other reference too so that when I get time I go through that.

.h and .hpp are commonly used header file extensions in C++.

This is answered in the FAQ, though beware that the example code is a little outdated, but you should be able to get some idea.

I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

    Why cant we use .cpp

As we need to use namespace in C++, does the xtension really matters in such cases?

The extension does not matter, but it is often good to keep to common conventions (and in fact the idea of a file extension is sometimes also a convention in itself on various platforms).
