    Help choosing a C++ Book?

    Started to learn a bit about C++, however, I am not very comfortable learning from watching online videos all the time and prefer a solid book to learn from as I find the videos online can be limited. Im wondering if anyone can suggest or recommend a C++ Learning book for beginners of programming in order for me to get the best out of it. I want to learn C++ and hopefully see some career prospects from it. I heard that the book Accelerated C++ is great for beginners and also C++ Learn to Program but I dont want to jump in and spend money if its not what I was after. So here I am cprogramming.com help me out

    I do not think Accelerated C++ is great for beginners with zero programming knowledge and no teacher. If you have already started compiling and running your first C++ programs by following online videos, then Accelerated C++ should be fine; you won't be at a loss as to how to get started.

    I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.
