    Visual C++ / Windows 98

    I went out yesterday and bought Visual C++, thinking for sure that my P4, 1.6 gig, 256 RAM computer could handle it.....

    i sat down at my computer and put the first CD in. after a few seconds to read the CD, my computer comes up with the message

    Could not find the file:

    and no files are listed. so needless to say i became frustrated. i started looking around online for other things i might need. i finally decided to read the system requirements, thinking it might list something that i didnt have on my computer

    Windows NT/2000/XP

    suddenly, with the thought that i had just spent $100 on a program that i will never be able to run on my computer without buying a new OS (and its a work computer, i probably wont be able to upgrade without a hassle), i became very depressed.

    how can i solve this problem and still have these outcomes:

    > I have Visual C++ on my computer
    > I dont have to spend much, if any, money
    > I have this problem solved by at least tomorrow
    > No one I know is found strangled by the end of the day

    i am using windows 98, btw

    >>> what is the difference between that and visual C++ 6??

    Well...

    >>> Windows NT/2000/XP

    Probably for one.

    (VC++ 6.0 runs fine on 95/98/NT/2000 - I have had it at some time or another, on all of those).

    Lol, thats just like this thing I read about during the prohibition, it was a grape concentrate in a cube form that read on the side, "Do not put this in 5 gallons of water with yeast and absolutely do not then let it sit in a dark place or fermentation will occur." It basically means if you dont follow the instructions exactly, you will make wine..... awsome marketing!
    Signature is optional, I didnt opt for one.
