Yes, 'C++ Primer is an good book.
You should also look at OOP with C++ by Lafore. - Good book as well.
Look at C++ by Wrox (Horton) as well and Schildt(C++ from the ground) up
As a c, C++, and Java instructor. I have these books. they are probably the best out paperback books with out expensive C++ text- like Deitel and Savitch and Gaddis (good textbooks as well)
Hope this helps.
Mr. C.
I am in an Introduction to C++ Programming class in College, and the book we had to buy was, C++ Programming Today by Barbara Johnnston, it comes with Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler and source codes for sample programs that are in the book.
Josuta (sp?) makes a good STL book... very good for reference.

That's an $80 book. Plus the Visual C++ Compiler it comes with is on an introductory license which makes all your executables that you make have a popup screen telling you that you can't sell any of your programs. It's very annoying. There have been cracks for it, but you have to apply the crack to every executable you make with VC++.Originally posted by Unregistered
