Are you at University? If so, check if your Uni is member of Microsoft academic alliance....aka MSDN academic alliance. If so, you can grab the pro version for free.

My Uni is a member and I can get a whole host of Microsoft products for nothing via download.

I'm new to programming so don't know what MFC is, but have you tried the free version of VS2008 from the MS site? http://www.microsoft.com/express/product/

    Sorry if it doesnt help.

Actually, you can get the Team Edition from MSDNAA. It beats the Pro edition by far, so that is what I would recommend to you MSDNAA-ers.

Thanks, will d/l that later. Looking at the MS site, to buy the Visual Studii Team System 2008 Team Suite would cost £10100??? As far as I can tell thats the one they are giving away free on MSDNAA. I'd be a fool not to grab that whilst I can!!
