UI application: suggestion of how to fix it

Hi guys, apologise if i post this on the wrong section...

I have a very small application with .UI extension. To protect from unauthorised duplication, the author use my local MAC code, so the software can only be used in my pc. It worked perfectly before until yesterday afternoon, when I clicked to run it, nothing happen or popped out. This little application is a bot for roulette game. I know the possibilities if what went wrong could be endless, but could any possibilities of how to fix it?

    Thanks.

So, I was driving my car(It's a Ford Mustang, by the way), and all of a sudden, it stopped running and wouldn't start up again.

Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix it?

Come on man, how are we supposed to know how it broke? Do you have any source code?

By the way, changing your MAC address takes about 30 seconds. Less on any unix based system.

If you know how, of course.

Yes, clearly. Point was that it isn't a very good method for protection against piracy, so to speak.

Haha, you are right, i know its a dumb question, as i know diddly squat about this programming stuff. I do have the application (obviously), the fact that the application doesnt need to be installed for me to run it, i couldnt uninstall and reinstall it again,..

IceDane, you mentioned about the fact that changing MAC code is so easy, how do i do that? Is there any editor for UI application for me to use to change the MAC code by any chance..?

Then a retort against your retort.
Is online activation a good means of protection against piracy?
It is all about how many can actually circumvent the protection. I do not know how to change mac address, for example. Could I find out? Probably. Could I find out how to circumvent online activation? Probably.

My point: it is probably as good as other techniques and is sufficient for such a small application unless it is a big commercial application with lots of money involved.

    M-M-M-MEGA-THREAD-HIJACK!

    Anyway,

Apparently, this highly useful application has been used by Intel, Cisco, Berkeley Labs and so on. False advertising, anyone? Way to make a complete application out of a nifty tool.
