wave and MIDI sound

hello
I'm starting a project that will need either RAW wave playback/recording and MIDI playback
And I want to keep it platform independent

I've already took a look at SDL_mixer and OpenAL which support wave, but I couldn't find any for MIDI

What library(es) would you suggest?

thanks

Check this out.

I've used FMOD before, it's pretty nice. But you have to buy a license for commercial use.
