I have some doubts about the issue "float vs double". I've heard people telling me that the 'double' type should be preferred over a 'float' type, since this is platform independent.
On "derkeiler" I've read this:
I've also followed a discussion about long vs int : that a 'long' is transparant to a 64-bit / 32-bit machine whereas 'int' isn't.Type float is subject to "the default argument promotions".
Type double, isn't.
To short-cut once and for all my questions, could anyone enlighten me on this topic? Or give me a good information source on this topic? The standard seems not to treat this topic.
Thanks a lot in advance!
