Hello, I installed msvc++ compiler from microsoft website.. the problem is that it says when i run the setup that i need sp2 in xp, while i have sp1 .. what the hell is this? is microsoft this lame or its some problem on my side? please tell me how can i run this compiler on xp sp1 as i realy need to use it, thanks
Perhaps the compiler simply requires some functionality that XP SP2 supplies? They did actually change some of the functions.
I thought XP SP2 is free to all XP users.
everything is free here in our country, anyway, forget that, now can u tell me any compiler as good as it that works with sp1 or some better compiler than that plz lemme know
also, can i updated from sp1 to sp2 without reinstalling the windows from cd? plz lemme know
Yes, you can. That would be my recommendation - the whole point of service packs is that they fit on top of each other.
