If it's a compilable file, you compile it. Despite the extension, dlist.cc is not a compilable file (it contains no compilable code, just template definitions -- or at least what you posted was such).

I have seen such files called "dlist.inl", to indicate that it's a "inline functions" header. (Ok, so technically, templates isn't inlined functions, but you get the idea).
