    is it possible to write a function in a c++ program that will format my drive D or C or whatever i want, if so, please let me knw abt the code

    of course there are ways to format a drive, but I would assume that the current drive your working on would not be able to be done due to the OS, but thats a little overhead that you're not looking for.

    there are simple solutions to your question that all involve using the OS through a command line program, which makes the solution system dependent.

    due to the nature of the problem, and how harmful it could be if others got a hold of it, I'm not leaving any code.

    Unbelievable. Yeah, right. Like we're supposed to write code to wreck a hardrive's content.... If you want this, you do it via the OS, etc. etc..
