What do you mean by "style"? The term can refer to things from "C style code" to "indent style" to "write your code with a flourish"

I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

well, i've noticed an unparalleled amount of pedantry on this board. as snarky as that may sound initially, i know this is usually for good reason in programming.

since my education was in chemical engineering and not EE or comp sci, i never got this kind of formalized brow beating about what is good style/practice and what is not.

i'm interested in 'good practice' guides that help make code efficient, easily maintained, etc.

google is rife with possibilities, and i can't go about reading lots of them, so i am asking for suggestions on which guides to read.

Outside of your DOS world, your header file is meaningless.

Check out the Effective C++ series of books by Scott Meyers and C++ Coding Standards by Sutter and Alexandrescu.
