    I was surprised to see that "how to" is considered wrong. After all it is an elliptic question meaning "Anyone knows how to..." or "ne1 knows how to..."
    I might be wrong.

    Thank you, anon. You sure know how to recognize different types of trees from quite a long way away.

    It sounds very AYB-ish to say, "how to print star!" as your "question".

    It could be correct if it was a instructional phrase, say, like:

    How to print a star!

    1. putchar('*');
    2. Done.

    But it doesn't really make sense as a question.

    Still, it's considered fractured english, and I doubt that it would make it in any edited material.

    PS 3 posts in reply to a post with no poster-supplied content! Yes!

    PPS FF spellchecker flags the word english... best... bug discovery... ever...

    That's why I stay away from acronyms as much as possible.
