I don't see why people think it's wrong to want to understand how a virus works. I'm sure many of the good people at Symantec know how to write several viruses. Doesn't mean they do.

It's like learning how to shoot a gun. It doesn't mean you're going to go kill people.

Talking about writing a virus on a programming fourm is like talking about shooting someone on a gun enthusiast forum.

Actually more like talking about writing a virus in a program forum is like talking about building a gun in the military. Sure, some people may get the wrong idea, but regardless, I feel that all real programmers should understand the logic of how a virus works the same way a soldier should understand how a gun works.

Ok, how about your keylogger thread?
    http://cboard.cprogramming.com/showthread.php?t=68753

    Or your process killer thread?
    http://cboard.cprogramming.com/showthread.php?t=71531

Or your hide the process from the user thread (eventually)

The more times you claim this isn't malicious in intent, the hollower it sounds.

You're on thin ice here buddy, and global warming isn't doing you any favours either.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
