    Talking Assigning Binary Value to a Variable

    Hi All:

    I'd like to know how to assign a 2's compliment binary number to a variable (sorry I totally forgot how to do that)

    For instance, I'd like to assign the number 5

    5 in Binary is: 000101
    5 in 2's Comp is: 111011

    Can some please help me with this?

    Thanks a lot

    You mean -5? Use unary - on a 2's complement machine. Or use ~ and add 1.

    Convert the number to hexadecimal and assign it that way. (Or octal.)

    You assign a hex number like this:
    Code:
    int x = 0xab12;
    dwk

    Seek and ye shall find. quaere et invenies.
