And how to on *UX env ?

    Hello All,

I'll use the same post to make interested people search easier in the future.

Does any one know how to get the serial from a *UX box ? And how about if I have a raid device ?

    I'm using RH Linux.

    Thanks alot,

How about reading the forum rules before bumping a 5-month old thread?

If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

A quick search suggests you can use either a command line utility or the HDIO_GET_IDENTITY ioctl. RAID will be more complicated.
