Good - now stop taking from everyone and give a little back - OK?
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

you mean you want *me* to tell *you* what to do?
giving back not always means to 'tell what to do', sometimes it can just mean not to say anything at all

Well you seem to have figured out how to do something which other people seemed to be having problems with as well.
The nice thing to do would be to share what you know with the world.

So, I guess DOS PC's had an ANSI.SYS file only for distribution in the US? -
it was ISO.SYS when distributed everywhere else instead?

I don't think so. Point: if you knew vaguely what he meant saying C89 why not just let it be? Self-flagellation has been out of vogue for 600+ years and counting.

I take it you replied to the wrong thread? You mean this one right?

Maybe we should start archiving humorous quotes from notable Cprog members.
My best code is written with the delete key.

You've missed the entire point of the post, and I suppose of the forum itself.
