memset, memcpy...

This is a discussion on memset, memcpy... within the C Programming forums, part of the General Programming Boards category; why are these functions in string.h? Seems like they should be in stdlib or something, but string.h?? Anyone know any ...

    memset, memcpy...

    why are these functions in string.h? Seems like they should be in stdlib or something, but string.h?? Anyone know any reason why they are there?

    they copy pointer contents, so do string functions like strncpy() and stuff.
