I've always wanted to learn C. Not because I'll ever use it in a work environment (everything is higher level than C), not that I'll be an expert or anything either. I just want to because it looks interesting and coding is something I enjoy as a hobbiest as well as a professional. So my question is this, what "cool" things can I do with C that I can't do with Java, .NET, or :insert some high level language here: ?
there isn't much you can do with C that you can't do with a different language. If you've always wanted to learn C, you should search the internet and look through things like this site's tutorials, get a feel for the basics and see if you want to really learn C completely.
I already have a general understanding of how things work. As far as the syntax and control structures go.
I would rather say that C is the best among the programming languages out there.
It makes a real man out of you.
