help!!

I am unsure the best way to try this problem from my book (homework!), any help would be appreciated, becaue my book sucks for examples!

Instructions:
"A deqeue might be described as a double-ended queue-that is, a structure in which elements can be inserted or removed from either end. Create a personal library (header and implementation files) containing types and functions for creating and maintaining a deqeue. Include functions for inserting and removing elements, for displaying the deqeue, for displaying individual nodes, and for displaying the deqeue in reverse oreder."

Like i stated my book is not very helpful and this class only meets once a week, so help is hard to come by!
