fscanf how to read one by one?

Hi again! I am very new! I've begun programming a few weeks ago! So please sorry for my next question:

If I read an ascii file with fscanf, is it that I read the first line, its put into a variable, then I read the second and so on?
And if: how can I declarate variable one for line one and variable two for line two and so on? It could be nice if you'd answer!
