Changing from Borland 3.1 to 5.5

I have a question I hope someone could help me with. I learned how to program with Borland 3.1 to make games, and made a couple easy games, along with a few programs. I can now create Atari-like games. I want to now move to a not-so-obsolete compiler, and was wondering if I am going to be able to use lots of what I learned on a new compiler. And, if not, how much new info will I have to learn before I can accomplish the same programs I am useing to making now. I have never used a graphics package as I have created all the functions from scratch. Thanks, and any help will be great!

i dont think there will be any problem .If u are gonna use non-ansi functions like getch or getche etc..it wont matter since u are upgrading to borland 5.5 ..whicn uses conio.h header file which contains getch , textcolor() etc..
