Thumbs up Thanks!

    A quick thanks for existing.....

My son is an 11 year old in his second C++ programming course long distance learning with Stanford University. He (& I) have learned in a vacuum, with no help from the public school system. Stanford is great, but brief in their lecture presentations, and it can take days for his tutor to email a response to a question (which is why I've been learning alongside him, just to provide someone to bounce ideas off).

Tonight I found this site - and think that I've gone to heaven! I was able to cruise through the threads on prime numbers & functions, and gather enough general info so that his lesson was finally clear to me, and I know will be clear to him when he sees the discussions.

Thanks to all who keep this running! We may not post often, but I think that we finally have found the resource that we've been lacking.

Glad you found a helpful resource. To keep my biting criticizm to a minimum, be sure and read the FAQ, it's got a lot of helpful information in it. Additionally, if you post code samples, be sure and use:
... your code goes in here, between those tags
It keeps your indentation and stuff so it looks nice and readable.

    Quzah.
Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Our pleasure. Anything I or any of the other mods/staff can do please lets me know. (This of course goes for all you user's out there ), and of course as Quzah pointed out, almost tactfully I might add *gasp*, don't forget to check out the tutorial's, announcements, and the various FAQ's (listed in the announcements). Doing this will hopefully keep quzah on the civil side .

Good luck with your sons course etc, lemme know anythin I can do,

Wooo hooo somone who actually reads those things! You don't know how happy you just made me.

Oh, and on a similar note I want to point out to everyone on the boards who happens to read this that here is a clear cut case where we could have a "younger user" on here. The PG-13 rule is important, follow it .

(All replies to the second paragraph reply on the New Rules thread on the General Discussions board, this is the C board after all)
