    i just finished programming the empty window box from the GL superbible (by the way, thank you all that recomended it about a month or two ago as a starters book on GL).
    it is quite cool to see something graphical created with code. i can only imagine how the spinning textured cube might be

    ok, now i have to go back to work. i am going to make the graphics engine for Doom4 before id does

    ps-- thank you waldo for understanding that not all of us are out to change the way the world turns. some of us just want to know just a bit more on how it turns.

    I think you made the right choice and I appologize for my earlier reproach. Building a cube and doing some graphics work would be fun but in order to build more sophisticated apps, takes a lot of planning. Most of that information is not related to any API, but involve design and process, they pave the road for the long term. In most of those books you hear people say that they were left short.

    all opinions are welcome here. jumping the gun is often what newbies like me like to do. eventually we shoot ourselves on the foot and then slow down
