    return area;
    }//end calculateLengthWidth

    At this moment I have 15 errors and I know it is because of area.

    I'm not sure if it is how it is declared or how I am calling it.

    My stupity continues........

    You'll get a better response if you use the code tags to format your code so that it has the same indention as it does on your compiler like so:
    Code:
    this is code
          i can format it any way i like
      isn't
          this
             fun?
    just type the word code at the beginning of your code and put it in between [] square blocks, then at the end type /code and put it in square blocks and you've got formatting!
