I guess you mean the likes of GetPrivateProfileString() for reading entries from ini files or WritePrivateProfileString() for writing them?

If so then try to avoid these methods and look into storing this type of information in the Registry....the registry was created to avoid the confusion and clutter of various ini files of various versions being scattered accross hard drives.......
