Well you might get your professor to at least have a look and consider the upgrade for everyone.
What tools you use personally shouldn't make any difference. But you'll probably need to make sure that the new compiler (in Orwell Dev-c++) defaults to C90 mode and not C99 mode. Otherwise you might stumble into some syntax that won't compile on an older compiler.
If your professor is suitably enlightened to think for themselves, they should upgrade.
At least you're not stuck in a school system which mandates TurboC fossilware.
