    question about C IDE's

    Hi. I'm new to C and am working on good size HPC project.

    Basically, all the files are organized in directories, and there are different projects under the root, for example
    root
    ----> proj1
    ----> proj2
    etc etc

    Sometimes, something in proj3 will need something from proj1, blah blah.

    However, there are no project files, like something that other IDEs generate. I'm having trouble using an IDE that uses strictly a directory structure. On the machine in the lab, it has a very very old version of KDevelop that seems to understand this. However, on Ubuntu, my new KDevelop doesn't understand this.

    is there a simple IDE (that has good search functions) that understands a directory structure?

    Nevermind, KDevelop seems to be wroking now. After restarting my computer, it stopped throwing an error.

    Case closed.
