    Is this C or C++

    So far I have been rather disappointed with the new board, it seems less educational than before, some advanced topics posted or far out (making mountains out of mole hills) answers to simple programming questions put by us newbies of posting. Also rather annoyed when I do find a thread that seems interesting only to find that the answer is coded in C++. As a newbie I would much rather read C Code in the C board, as I am studying C. Some of us are not bi-lingual, and it is tough enough to understand without having to plough through C++. how does one progress from being a juniour member to member, and what advantages does this bring.
    The good thing about the last board was there were no ranking system to distinguish one user from another, we were all the same as in now we have this inferiority complex with moderators galore, members and down trodden junior members ?
    WHY O WHY. Bring back the educational side to the site that I found a great aid in my studies, not a super ego trip for semi-professional programmers.

    dude Senior Members have made 30 post on the board after that you can make your title whatever you please.

    as for C++ answers to C questions this is an unfortunate problem that some just don't think about while replying so just chill.

    I am not trying to point people out in particular. When I first started out I posted numerous posts to the old board. The site is set up as my home on my pc, and has been for months. Most of all I like reading posts and there replies. After all I thought this was a great learning site for would be programmers. Not a race to see who can accumulate the most posts and gain brownie points.

    Personally I find it very educational. I can learn the things I don't know by reading posts that I don't understand as well, and I can further my current knowledge by answering questions for people who are learning the basics.

    As for how many posts, it really doesn't matter. Just post where you feel the need to and ignore all of the ranking junk.

    The ranking system doesn't really have an effect on anything. If you feel downtrodden as a junior member or feel this is an ego trip, explain why. If you just don't like being a junior member, PM the webmaster or make another 15 posts.

    You progress from junior member to member by making 30 posts. You don't gain anything, except your title's different.

    There's plenty of C code on this board. Occasionally, C++ code gets put over here, but that happened just as often on the old board.

    Senior Members are after 100 posts, and the webmaster changed the minimum posts required to change your title to 500 (not that it really makes a difference either way)

    Thanks for all the opinions, I was merely sharing my own. The main point was the use of C++ here, likely to confuse some people espeically me. Still Lets close it here, and happy coding.
