I am just curious and kinda puzzled can allegro library be used in Vista OS. I am pretty sure i installed it correctly through Dev c++.

Since dev-c++ is obsolete and unmaintained, what version of Allegro did you get?

Read their FAQ perhaps for the latest version / system requirements etc.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.

am using 4.2.2 which was available from dev c++.
